The Reality of HSA's

While in theory, Health Savings Accounts sound like a good way to reduce health care costs by forcing consumers to become better shoppers, the reality is that patients are not ready to make those kinds of decisions. According to this article, consumers do not have access to the kinds of quality and price information they need to make informed decisions about their healthcare. Also, people with HAS's are more likely to forgo preventative care, which could lead to more costly health problems in the future.
