Colorado Proposes Their Own "Wal-Mart" Legislation
Thursday February 23, 2006
It appears that Maryland has indeed started a trend. The Colorado state legislature has recently proposed their own legislation requiring large employers in their state to reserve a certain percentage of their payroll for health coverage costs. Colorado emphasizes that this legislation is not intended to directly target Wal-Mart. Unlike Maryland, in Colorado, there are several large employers who would be affected by this bill, including King Soopers, Safeway, IBM, and the University of Denver.

Unfortunately this would not apply to the University of Denver’s bare bones student health insurance plans, which are abysmal.
