Federal Budget Spending Continues To Increase
Monday April 10, 2006
According to an article in the USA Today, federal spending continues to increase at a dramatic rate. Health care costs are contributing to this rapid increase. Spending on social programs - including Medicare, Medicaid, and other government health care programs like VA Health or Tricare - has risen faster during the current Presidential administration than at any other time in the past 40 years, and shows no signs of slowing in the coming years. The new Medicare Part D benefit alone is projected to account for at least 20% of all Medicare spending over the next decade.
