Even Wealthier Uninsured Americans Receive Poor Health Care

According to a study by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, higher income does not lead to improved health care and higher utilization of medical services by uninsured individuals. Even at higher incomes levels, uninsured individuals are less likely to seek medical attention or preventative care than their counterparts with insurance. Researchers found that people who must pay for their health care out-of-pocket do not believe that the health care they will receive is worth the cost.
