Electronic Health Insurance Claims Speed Payments

A survey conducted by America’s Health Insurance Plans shows that 75% of all health insurance claims are now filed electronically. Just four years ago, only 44% were filed electronically. Health insurers process 98% of claims within 30 days of receipt; however, sometimes doctors, hospitals, and other providers delay in filing claims in some cases because it takes time to gather the documentation required for submission.
