CoverRx Enrollment Suspended

Monday March 5, 2007

Recently, the state of Tennessee launched a new program called CoverRx, which offers assistance to Tennessee residents without prescription drug coverage. Unfortunately, just 2 months after the launch, enrollment for CoverRx is now suspended. According to the Nashville Tennessean, 21,000 signed up in the first two months of the program, overwhelming available resources. Many people who need this assistance but did not apply quickly enough are now left wondering if they will ever receive the help they need to obtain their medication.

CoverRx hopes to reopen enrollment soon. The program would provide coverage for up to 5 prescription per month, plus diabetes supplies and insulin. Copays range from $3-$10 per prescription, depending on the enrollee’s income.
