Health Care Expected To Strongly Influence 2008 Election Outcome
- John Edwards plans to require employers to cover employees and expand government programs like Medicaid and SCHIP (State Children's Health Insurance Plan) to cover more people.
- Barack Obama promises universal coverage, and a health care system which minimizes costs by providing better chronic disease management and chronic care, and utilizes health information technology.
- Hillary Clinton has not offered a specific plan, but also supports universal coverage…
- …as does Dennis Kucinich, who proposes to expand Medicare to cover everyone.
However, some experts believe that candidates touting universal coverage plans may be barking up the wrong tree. They believe that since the majority of Americans currently have coverage, the more important issue will be the cost of healthcare and the value received for the dollar.

Universal health care? this is a deceptive ploy by these candidates to blur the term “Universal health care”. “Universal health care” or its more specific name “Single Payer Health care” plan is not what these guys support. these guys should define these terms and stop trying to deceive us with convoluted terms.
I must agree that they the candidates do not come out and tell us all the details, but A Single Payer Health care could be good for America if we would only limit it to a basic system and not keep adding more benefits to it. Also have an option for those who want or can afford it a premium plan. Take the companies and unions out of the health care business.
The one thing that bothers me is those people that criticize other ideas but never present any of their own ideas to solve a problem.
Our problems in American can be solved only when our elected politicians take a position on a problem, present the details and stop catering to special interest.
