Baby Boomers Enter Retirement Less Healthy Than Their Parents
Friday April 20, 2007
The Washington Post reports that as they reach their golden years, baby boomers may be the first generation which is less healthy than their predecessors. While they often have healthier habits than prior generations, more baby boomers report having chronic illnesses like diabetes or hypertension. They also seem to have more difficulty performing daily activities, such as climbing stairs. This trend has been linked to the more sedentary lifestyle of the baby boomer generation, but even those who stay active often experience health problems due to higher stress levels.
