Publix Discontinues Price Matching For $4 Generics

Publix, a grocery store chain in the Southeastern U.S., recently announced a pharmacy program offering certain antibiotics free of charge to anyone with a prescription. Now, they are announcing that they will no longer match Walmart's $4 generic pricing.

According to the St. Petersburg Times, Publix never had an official $4 generic program, but they voluntarily chose to match Walmart's pricing for any customer who asked. Now that they have begun offering free antibiotics, however, they have discontinued the $4 price matching.
