Giant Eagle Offers More Low-Cost Generics
Thursday November 8, 2007
Supermarket Giant Eagle, which has stores in Western Pennsylvania, Ohio, West Virginia, and Maryland, has increased the number of low-cost generics available through their pharmacies. According to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Giant Eagle pharmacies now offer approximately 400 generic medications for $4 each. They formerly carried approximately 300 generics at that price. With the expansion, Giant Eagle now offers more $4 generics than any other retailer, including Wal-Mart, which has about 360 generic drugs available for $4.
Among the new $4 generics are drugs used to control asthma and allergies, cholesterol-lowering medications, and family planning drugs. Additionally, customers can buy some generic heart health medicines, vitamins, and oncology drugs for $4.
