Access Limited By Affordability
Saturday December 8, 2007
A new report released by the Centers for Disease Control shows that in 2005, over 40 million Americans went without medicine, dental care, or vision care because they cannot afford it. According to Reuters, family income also had a significant impact on children’s access to dental care.
The CDC also reports some good news. For example, average life expectancy is rising, while death rates for heart disease and cancer are going down. The full report is available at http://www.cdc.gov/nchs.
