Health Costs Are a "Serious Problem"
Friday August 22, 2008
A recent Kaiser Health Tracking Poll shows that 25% of all Americans - and half of all uninsured individuals polled - believe that paying for health care is a "serious problem." Additionally, Americans report that paying for health care is a bigger concern than paying for food, housing, or debt. Minority groups, individuals in fair or poor health, lower-income individuals, caregivers, and the unemployed were more likely to report struggling with health costs.

The health care system is out of control. I am a breast cancer survivor and had I opted for reconstructive surgery (which costs thousands of dollars, not to mention possible complications) my insurance company would have covered it in full, no questions asked. I opted for 2 prostheses, and I am being charged $400.00 (300.00 of which is a deductible). I wish that everyone on a given date would cancel all health insurance policies. start a boycott on health insurance. Think about it.. most people who get sick are not millionaires, they are the ordinary folk. What does that mean? Doctors and hospitals and pharmaceutical companies need the “regular folk” to make a living, just as the common people need good health care. They don’t like to admit it but they need us as much as we need them. Without each other, hospitals would be empty. I think it’s time for the ordinary folk to unite, say enough is enough.
