Number of Uninsured Decreased in 2007

Tuesday August 26, 2008
According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the number of uninsured Americans has recently declined from 47 million Americans to 45.7 million. Additionally, the number of Americans covered on private insurance stayed about the same, while an increased number became covered under government programs, like Medicare, Medicaid, and SCHIP. This seems to indicate that most of the newly covered Americans have gained their coverage through government programs.
