Americans Cut Health Insurance To Save Money
Thursday November 6, 2008
A recent survey shows that Americans are more likely to cut health insurance to save money now that our nation is in economic crisis. According to Plansponsor.com, lower income individuals are 10 times more likely to drop their coverage in the face of financial uncertainty. Younger survey respondents were also more likely to take drastic action like dropping their coverage or switching to reduced coverage. Additionally, 15% of the survey respondents reported that they would consider taking less medication, delaying prescription refills, or not filling prescriptions at all in order to save money.
