In response to Health & Human Services Secretary-designate Tom Daschle's call to action, Americans have started having conversations about health care and reform. According to the
New York Times, Americans seem to favor taking insurance companies out of the picture entirely, and instead prefer having the government and employers play a larger role in ensuring access to care.
Americans interested in participating in the national conversation an health care can host their own discussion. The recommendations coming out of these discussions will be passed along to Daschle and President-elect Obama, who plan to use this input to develop their health care reform plan.
