New York Governor Proposes Expanding Dependent Coverage

In his State of the State address earlier this week, New York Governor Paterson proposed expanding dependent health insurance coverage to allow young adults aged 19-29 to remain on their parents' plan. In this proposal, the young adults would have to pay the full cost of the insurance plan. The Governor hopes that this would reduce the number of uninsured New Yorkers.
