It's no secret that health care and health insurance are really expensive in the United States. That's a big part of why we're going through health care reform. If health care and health insurance were cheap, there wouldn't have been a problem; most Americans would have been covered by health insurance.
Well, health insurance isn't cheap. Many Americans still don't have health insurance. Many can't afford it, and some who have it struggle to pay the monthly premiums.
I don't think health insurance premiums are going to become affordable for everyone, magically, on January 1, 2014. But, I do think many people will be able to get help paying those premiums, help that wasn't available before.
If you or someone you care about can't afford health insurance, "Can I Get Help Paying for Health Insurance?" will arm you with the information you need to know to access affordability programs created by the Affordable Care Act.
Some of these programs won't provide financial help until January 1, 2014. But, you can apply starting October 1, 2013.
