Question: How Much Can I Contribute To My HSA?
Answer:

The maximum amount that you can contribute to your HSA is determined by statute and adjusted each year for inflation and cost-of-living. In 2009, individuals can contribute up to $3,000 to their HSA, while families can contribute up to $5,950.

Additionally, people age 55 and older can make additional "catch up" contributions of up $1,000 each year. This additional amount is allowed if the person turns 55 any time that year. So if you turn 55 on December 29 this year, you can contribute up to $4,000 to your individual HSA this year, and each subsequent year.
